Do you think the youth of today will ever be able to contribute to Australia in a postive way?

I for one think so. Of course it depends on the individual though. Some youth are bludgers, and think that society does owe them, and have an arrogant sense of entitlement. On the other hand, there are many youth who are trying to stand up and take action, and positively contribute to our society. I agree that parents do need to instill good values in their children, and not be too strict, but also not too lenient. The worse youth are usually those who come from extremes, either strict, overprotective parents who give don't give their children independence, and mollycoddle them. On the other hand are those lenient parents who let their children do whatever they want. A balance is needed.
