Water Lillies and Copper Rainchain?

I have a large clay pot that is filling up with water from a rain-chain attached to a rain gutter. Can the copper from the rain-chain leach out and poison the water enough so that a water lily will not grow in the pot? Will this water poison the birds and neighborhood cats or dogs that may drink from it? Thought I would ask here before continuing with this. Thanks
